Nine Levers of Corporate Growth
Consistently successful corporate growth is not the result of being in the right place at the right time. Nor is it attributable to the latest management craze. After witnessing hundreds of CEOs turn to management fads as the panacea, Acclaro Growth Partners decided to analyze these “flavor-of-the-month” tools to determine, once and for all, what works. The result of our in-dept analysis of hundreds of companies and situations is The Nine Levers of Corporate Growth. We conclude that there is no single, “silver bullet” that routinely generates growth. There are, however, nine interrelated growth levers that a CEO can pull to change the outcome.
During periods of upheaval, these nine levers are helpful in assessing all the challenges a company faces -- divided into three external levers that lead to awareness of opportunities for strategic decision-making; three internal levers that lead to effective execution of strategy; and three strategic levers that serve as the bridge connecting external levers to internal levers.
External levers
- Competitor awareness
- Customer awareness
- Market awareness
Internal levers
- Core competencies and operational efficiency
- Human capital
- Growth capital
Strategic levers
- Planning process
- Wild cards
- Brand strategy and value proposition
